I got nervous a couple years ago when inaccurate predictions were made about Rolex either changing the bezel to black ceramic, or discontinuing the Explorer II altogether. I was pleasantly surprised when Rolex released the new iterative 226570 version.
One of the reasons that I never warmed up to my Rolex Explorer II 16570 was because of its white dial. At first, I thought it was fresh, crisp, and a little more special than the black one. But no matter how often I wore it, the Polar proved distant, aloof, and just plain cold. The matter of ceramic has been settled. The brushed steel bezel is back, as are the familiar black and polar dial configurations, orange hands, and orange text on the dial. In fact, very little has changed. The current white and black models look remarkably like the white and black 216570 that came out a decade ago.
